Being in Love is the most amazing thing that can happen to an adult person. But, falling for the wrong person is one thing you must be careful of.
Dating in the past decade has recorded a good number of Failed Relationships. Meanwhile, have you ever thought about the causes of these massive fails?
Bullying doesn’t only exist in the general society, it is more dangerous and unfortunately ignored in personal and romantic relationships.
You must have gone on a date with Someone in the past years and realized they seemed either real, self-explaining, critic or too nice, and your instincts told you how different you both were but other factors limited you’re of making the right turn. Eventually, you ended up with this person or even get hurt.
These 13 Red flags will prove to you that you’re in a toxic relationship. Remember, anyone can buy a pair of shoes, but not everyone wears the same size of shoes. What am I insinuating here? Fact is, you can meet as many guys as you want and go on dates with anyone you want but not everyone who impressed in one way or another on dates is meant for you.
SIGN 1 — ” HE IS ALL PERFECT”
This is a situation where he does everything right, has all the qualities you’re looking for in a man. In all these things what could be wrong is a tiny flaw. I’m guessing you’re wondering why you can’t be with a lovely man all because he has a single flaw. Well, the truth is no one is perfect, right?.
Let’s assume you met this guy, and he’s doing pretty well as much as you know, you hang out a couple of times and eventually start dating and get comfortable. He becomes the man you want to spend all of your life with. Now, that is the problem. When you love someone and he does everything to please you, everyone would praise you and that can make you become blinded towards the things that actually matter.
He blames you for everything that ever went wrong, making you feel less of yourself. This isn’t just a sign, it explains that everything is wrong with your relationship and you may not see that.
SIGN TWO –“HE IS POSSESSIVE”
Every man wants to be in charge and keep an eye on whatever belongs to him. Remember if you’re dating him, only he automatically has the right to you. He may become protective, monitoring, and all over you. That is normal for a man who loves you. But you also need to look deeper into this, if you’ve ever found yourself in this scenario or something related.
For example, your long lost college friend who just got back in town calls you to meet up and you decided that he goes with you. During the hangout, he doesn’t like her. So, he decides that you don’t meet with her or invite her over for any reason.
That may seem ridiculous, but you may not notice this controlling attitude on time until its too late.
SIGN THREE — ” HE ALWAYS PLAYS THE VICTIM”
His insecurities are at the highest level, so whatever you do makes him complain. He always makes you feel like you hate him or mistreat him. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t feel guilty when you do something wrong. If he manipulates or blackmails you emotionally, then your relationship is toxic
SIGN FOUR — “HE FORGETS”
He literarily forgets about almost everything that concerns you, then covers up with the fact that he is busy. If he gives you excuses all the time for doing this, it only means that he would neglect you more as time progresses.
SIGN FIVE — “HE WANTS TO BE THE ACHIEVER”
You told him about a promotion, a loved one’s upcoming wedding or a trip to Paris with your girlfriends but he doesn’t seem excited about it
This may mean he can’t afford the trip, he’s not in a good mood or just too tired at the moment. That, you can relate with but if it is something he does deliberately, that is a red flag. It means he doesn’t care about your progress or happiness.
SIGN SIX — “HE IS AGGRESSIVE”
There are lots of aggressive men out there who love their women more than their lives, forgives them no matter what they do. But there’s always a story behind the story.
Your guy may not seem physically aggressive nor abusive. He can be good to you when he feels like it, then a monster another minute. He doesn’t let you go no matter how you try or how bad you want to leave. This is a top sign among the 13 Red flags your relationship is toxic.
SIGN SEVEN — “YOU PAY FOR THINGS”
It is feminist to want to take care of your financial needs all by yourself, which is very fine. But if your man does not feel that he should take care of your financial needs, then something is definitely wrong. He may ask you to get it yourself so he can pay you back. This only explains one thing; he’s Stingy.
SIGN EIGHT — ” HE TALK TO HIS EX”
A few men out of many are genuinely over their Exes. These men can leave their communication active or disconnect in good terms.
This fact doesn’t actually encourage you to ignore the fact that your man runs to his Ex all the time. He may say things like “We’re just friends now” or “She needed someone to talk to” and so on. That is not all that it is. If he is not there for you when you need him but does that for his Ex, it’s time to re-think your decision.
SIGN NINE — ” HE WANTS TO CHANGE YOU”
Do not waste your time with a man whose mission is to make sure that you fit into his dream woman. If he wants to change you, what he’s saying is;
“I don’t love your person”
“I would love you more if you were what I want you to be”
Let’s not leave out the fact that a man who loves you would do anything to ensure you’re doing well in life. That’s why they would try their best in making you a better person. These are two different things.
SIGN TEN –” HE CHOOSES YOUR OUTFIT”
This sign is almost similar to being controlling. He complains about whatever you wear, chooses the way you should dress up, and when to wear a particular outfit.
Some men have a great taste for fashion and wish that you look great, but it is important that you don’t confuse advice with the decision.
SIGN ELEVEN — ” HE MAKES YOU FEEL LAZY”
You want to settle down after a long day or you just came for the weekend or to spend the holiday. He wants you to do all the chores then complains if you don’t meet up.
A man who sees doing chores as a necessity is likely to treat you like a housekeeper. That is a sign your relationship is toxic.
SIGN TWELVE — ” HE USES, WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS….”
If your man always complains or uses “why are you always” while talking to you, it only means he’s dissatisfied with the things you do, and your way of handling things. He may mean well but if it is something he does with consistency, he doesn’t love you for who you are.
SIGN THIRTEEN — “YOU ARE NOT A PRIORITY”
You don’t get much of his attention, he doesn’t make spending time with you count. He cancels plans with you for the slightest things that come up. This means he doesn’t value you enough to give you his time.
These 13 Red flags of a Toxic relationship should be taken seriously. A lot of people end up marrying the wrong partners because they ignored all these signs. Before it becomes too late for you to turn back, check how your relationship is with your partner. Does he portray most of the signs or any other not listed above?
